Happy Tammy Fest Day

TWIT is pleased to wish you, my faithful readers, a very happy Tammy Fest Day.  The festivities will begin promptly at 7:00 this evening, and will last until no Divas are left standing.  The refreshments have been purchased, decorations will be set up, memorabilia will be placed on display, and as always, the concert DVD of The First Lady Of Country Music Miss Tammy Wynette will be playing on repeat.  Nothing will keep Tammy Fest III from happening tonight - not even new threats against the U.S. by Osama Bin Ladin.  If he's going to attack us here in America, then he'd best not do it tonight or else he'll have to deal with The Divas.  He's bad, but he's not that bad.

I can't believe that they exhumed a resting Tammy from her peaceful grave.  Geez, that woman went through such a hard life but beamed in the years before her demise.  I chuckle when I listen to Tammy's duet album and love the seriousness she imposes when singing "Every Breath You Take" with Sting.  Oh Puddin, we can't forget the dance frenzy when Tammy re-emerged in the mid 90's with KLF and bound for MuMu Land.

MP, one of the most fun and meaningful adventures that you and I ever had was getting to see The First Lady Of Country Music perform just one short year before her death.  I never will forget that evening at the Crusade For Children concert at The Center For The Arts.  Remember how Bob Sokolar's wife was sitting next to us, and wasn't into the concert at all until we started whooping and singing along, and before you knew it, she was into the concert as much as we were.  It's like that concert was sureal - it was the only time I got to see Tammy Wynette perform live, and I can't get out of my mind how weak and frail she looked up on stage.
