So Much For That

So much for my afternoon of napping yesterday.  I didn't sleep worth a dime last night.  I woke up tired and sleepy.  But my goal for today is to not take a nap, and to hopefully get to bed a bit earlier tonight to get caught back up.  I'm going to spend some time outside today under the gazebo reading and writing. Hopefully that will keep me from dozing off.

Stay tuned.

Sleepy Sunday

The Old Man and I have been dozing this afternoon in our respective recliners.  And I'm not going to rule out another nap before this day is over.

I haven't slept good for the past few nights; I've had a lot on my mind, so today's naps have been very welcome.

One For The Record Books

Yesterday, we set a new high temperature record here in the 'Ville; or I should say a low high.  It was 58 degrees.  And it was windy and cold all day long.  This morning as I type this, it's 46 degrees.  Yep, 46 degrees on the day before Memorial Day.

I looked at the forecast and sure enough, it's supposed to be back in the 90's next week.

Stay tuned.

Covid 19 Update

It's been one week since the mask mandate at work has been lifted.  But like all other businesses, they are going on the honor system -- if you have been vaccinated, you don't have to wear a mask.

It's been interesting to see how many of my coworkers still chose to wear a mask; I'm assuming it's because they haven't been vaccinated, or it could be because it makes them feel safer.  I am not judging them whatsoever.  I will wear a mask in certain situations because it will make me feel safer.

Covid 19 Update

Even though most of the stores here in Louisville have lifted the mask mandate, I was surprised to see that there was 100% mask wearage at my Krogers yesterday - with employees and customers.

Finally Friday

It's been a long hard week at work, but it's finally Friday.  And I don't have to deal with that place for two full days.

We're still dealing with major scheduling issues due to parts shortages, and that makes it hellish for us schedulers.  But we're professionals, and we still make it look easy.

Stay tuned.

Can't Find A Good F Word For Thursday

As I type this, I am frantically trying to find tonight's Red game on cable.  It makes me an effin nervous wreck then this happens.  I know it's not my fault if the bizillion cable channels we get don't have a particular Reds game, but somehow I take it personally.

Stay tuned.

Mullet Watch

I stopped by Krogers yesterday morning on the way to work, and spotted a great mullet.  The host was a 3 or 4 year old blonde headed boy.  You could tell his mama took great pride in his mullet -- it was shaped perfectly:  business in the front and lots of party in the back.

Sorry For The Delay

I sincerely apologize for not posting for a few days.  This week has just gotten by me.  Things have been crazy at work with parts shortages, and that makes life hell for a production scheduler.

I promise I will get back to my daily posts.

Thanks for still being faithful readers.

So Much For Spring

I would have to consult with the weatherazzi for official confirmation, but I believe we had about 3 days worth of spring so far this year; the rest has been winter.   That is coming to an end.  The warming trend starts today with an expected high of 81, and will gradually work up to highs of 90 by the end of the week.

So much for spring.

A Great Saturday

The week of TCB is continuing.  I got breakfast for us, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the dining room and family room, checked on the chickens and made a pot of chili.  After regaining my composure, I went to the drugstore and Krogers.  Now I'm home and ready to sit on my ass for the rest of the day.

A Week Of TCB

This has been a busy week for me -- the perpetual procrastinator.  I took care of four, yes, four, big things that I'd been procastinating about for months. And it feels good on a Friday evening to look back at the week and see that I have TCB (Taken Care of Business.).

Hopeful Thursday

The Old Man and I went tonight for haircuts, and when we got home, the trip out spurred some conversation.  To make the long story short, the Old Man is thinking about going back to church on Sunday.  And he also said he wanted to go to our favorite Mexican joint tomorrow for supper.

You can't imagine how huge this is for us.  All along, I told him it would be his choice when we went out to eat or went back to church.  I thank the Lord for answering my prayers, and I know He will be with us with whatever choice the Old Man makes on Sunday morning.

Stay tuned.

Wacky Wednesday

Things are still very crazy at work with parts shortages; it's a day-to-day thing for all of the assembly lines that I schedule.

But the Old Man and I had a great supper of country fried steaks and mashed potatoes.  Nuff said.

Air Fryer Tuesday

It was a long busy day at work, but I was happy when I got home and was able to rely on our trusty Air Fryer to get our boneless pork chops cooked.  I can't stress enough how much I love our Air Fryer, and how I rely on it during the week to get supper on the table quick.

Thank You, Tractor Supply

TWIT and I would like to thank Tractor Supply for their curbside pickup.  I am ashamed to say I waited until the past two months to use it.  All I do is get online and buy my 50 pound bag of chicken feed, and one of the fine folks at Tractor Supply will carry the big ass bag out to the van/truck and put it in the back for me.  You can't ask for much more than that.

Happy Mothers Day

TWIT and I would like to wish all of the mothers and those with a mothering heart a very happy Mothers Day.

Sciatica Saturday

After a couple of good weeks, my sciatica decided to flare up today.  I'm getting ready to do my stretches in hopes of it helping.  In the meanwhile, I'm thankful for the two weeks of no sciatica pain.

Stay tuned.

Positive Things That Have Come From The Pandenmic

It's been a cray cray 14 months with the COVID-19 pandemic, but I've found some positive things that have come out of it:

1. With kids not being in the classrooms, for the past year and two months we’ve all been spared from       having to deal with coworkers and friends hawking their kids’ fundraisers

2. No annoying fire drills at work = not having to stand out in the parking lot in the cold or heat

3. Suspending the office dress code and us getting to wear jeans and t-shirts to work

4. Getting to work from home and not having to deal with people’s bullshit face-to-face

5. Saving money by not eating out, going to concerts or sporting events, etc

6. Having a legitimate reason not to go out

7.  Personally, learning to cook

Tuesday, Tuesday

If I'd known today would have been as crazy and problem filled as it was, I sure as hell would have taken another day off.  But I made it through.

Monday, Monday

I took a vacation day today to recoup from Derby weekend, and to take care of some bidness.  As I type this, I wish that I had taken the whole week off.  But I'm thankful for today.

Happy Derby

TWIT and I would like to wish you, faithful readers, a happy Derby Day.  Once again, the sun is shining bright on our old Kentucky home.
