You Know Why I Didn't Go To Recess In School? Part One

The answer is because I don't play.

Two times in the past week, friends have tried (key word) to play me.  Neither time worked.

The first time was when a friend posted something on Facebook about being at Horseshoe Casino.  A couple of people commented, asking if he was there gambling, and he said no, he was working.  Always the curious one about people working at casinos, I commented and asked what department or area.  He said he was the manager of Legends, one of the restaurants.  A few weeks ago, the 'Rents and I took my Cousin and his girlfriend to the boat, and while we were there, I stopped at the restaurant and asked for my friend so I could say hello.  The two young ladies working at the hostess desk didn't know him.  I didn't think much of it until last night.  I drove over to the boat after work to get my "mystery gift" (which turned out to be a very cool electric sandwich/panini maker), and once again, while I was there I stopped at the restaurant to ask if my friend was working so I could say hello.  The girl at the hostess desk said she didn't know him.  And then she called over the evening manager and I asked him.  He'd also never heard of my friend. He even called someone back in the kitchen and asked if they'd heard of him.

This isn't the first time this friend has pulled a stunt like this.  Back when I had the viral infection and pneumonia a month apart, not being one to be outdone, he suddenly came down with some ailment that was worse.  And when I had decided to go for my first Master's, well, he announced he was going back for some degree as well.  To my knowledge, he never got a degree of any kind.  But I digress.

I've thought about this a lot today, and I debated with myself over whether to call him out about this or just let it go.  I chose the former.  But in a subtle way.  I left him a message on Facebook and simply said that I was over at Horseshoe last night and looked for him at Legends but didn't see him.  I'm anxious to hear his response.  As always I'll keep you posted.  And tomorrow, I will tell you about the second time someone tried to play me this week.
