I'm very happy to report that the computer shop called me this morning and said that my computer was fixed and ready to go. It seems the problem was in the motherboard and not the video card. But since it was covered under warranty, the only thing it cost me was inconvenience. As soon as I got home, I connected everything back in and within a minute I was up and running.
