I just got back from a very informative and useful three-hour workshop for new business owners that was sponsored by the Small Business Administration. It was awesome and I learned so much tonight. And I can't wait to get through the work day tomorrow so I can attend the second session tomorrow night. At work today, I was telling someone about going to this workshop and they simply asked "Why?" I looked at them like they had three heads. Why? Why? Because I want MY business to succeed, and I am going to use all resources available to me to make sure that I do succeed.
Tonight, I talked to a marketing consultant for about 15 minutes. I don't want to think of how much that would have cost me if I'd had to pay for that same consultation if I'd called a marketing firm and made an appointment. And tomorrow night, I'm going to talk to a lawyer and hopefully get the info I need -- all without having to pay a $$$ retainer fee.
It's not just new business owner information that is available free of charge from the Small Business Administration - it's a lot of stuff. There's tons of free information out there available - either on the internet or with a live person. All you have to do is be persistant in finding how to get the info.
