We interrupt the regularly scheduled Flashback Friday to bring you news that Sherman-Geddon has ended. Well, it will end at midnight tonight when the Sherman Minton Bridge is opened. It's been a long time coming - over five months. But the work has ended and hopefully the bridge is safe for traffic once again.
Unless you had to travel across the river to get to Louisville (or vice-versa) for the past five and a half months, you have no idea what we're talking about. Commute times doubled and tripled for people trying to get across that bridge to get to work.
Now the bridge travellers have to look forward to the inevitable Kennedy Bridge closing so the gigantic potholes can be repaired. I hope they at least wait a few weeks for everyone to get used to the old traffic pattern before they change things again.
