A few months ago, I bought something very cool - a teeny tiny refrigerator. We put it on a cool table on the back porch, and I immediately filled it with bottled water. The 'Rents are always working out in the yard and the garden, and I thought it would be a bit closer for them to get a cool drink instead of going all the way into the house for some water. As I was getting a bottle of water out of it a few minutes ago, I thought to myself how on earth did we get by before bottled water and small outside refrigerators to keep the water cool?
Answer: You got your water from a pitcher that was kept inside the refrigerator in the kitchen or you drank from a garden hose.
