I'm very happy to report that Farmtown 2012 is underway. The 'Rents set out 9 tomato plants today, and they already have some metallic streamers tied to stakes to hopefully keep the birds and rabbits away. They even have the trusty battery-operated owl out in the corner of the garden to scare away the small varmints. They're taking precautions early on this year, in hopes of being able to grow 7 foot tall tomato plants like they did last year.
Good weather is in the forecast tomorrow and part of the day on Friday, so it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't plant some more. As always, I'll keep you posted.
