When I got up at 9:05 this morning, the temperature here in the 'Ville was already 88. Yes, 88 degrees at nine in the morning. They're calling for a state record high for a summer season (not just a high for the day) of 107 today. But if we can make it through tomorrow (with a forecasted high of only 99) there is some relief in sight with forecasted highs of the mid-80's for next week.
Once again, we've cancelled our plans to attend the Bats game tonight. We see no sense in being miserable for a few hours, and instead the SFs and I have decided to go see the "Madea's Witness Protection." Yes, faithful readers, I'm going to the movies again. The heat today won't be the only record-breaker; this will be the third movie I've seen in a year.
