On top of flooding in Louisville and the surrounding area yesterday, and with the gigantic building at GE Appliance Park burning to the ground, yesterday was the anniversary of the April 3rd tornadoes - the most deadly and massive outbreak of tornadoes ever. One thing I remember most about the April 3rd tornadoes was the weather the next day on April 4.
Schools a and a lot of businesses were closed, and I went with Mom and Grandpa up to the drugstore to pick up a few things. I remember walking from the parking lot into the drugstore and looking up at the sky - the sky was as blue and clear as it could possibly be, and there was a slight chill in the air. This morning, it was the same way. I went outside to fill up the bird feeder, and looked up and the sky was as blue and clear as it was on this day back in 1974.
