The 'Rents and I both have Anthem health insurance, and unfortunately, the three of us received letters last month saying that we were among the millions that had their information stolen from hackers. We all three are in Lifelock and the identity theft protection that is part of our AAA membership, so we feel pretty safe.
This week, I read an article about another kind of identity theft that we all need to be aware of. It's medical identity theft. They use our name and insurance health insurance account numbers. Using this info, they can see a doctor and get prescription drugs. With as much as we have to pay for our medical insurance and with all of the effin red tape we go through with our claims, EOBs, etc, this shit has got to stop.
