A 59-year-old man was arrested after getting into a fight with an officer over a pint of stolen chocolate ice cream, police said.

An employee of ValuMarket, 1250 Bardstown Road, called police when Donald G. Doran left the store with the ice cream at about 4:34 p.m. Monday, a Louisville Metro Police report said.

When police caught up with the Doran at the corner of Bardstown Road and Patterson Avenue, Doran threw his belongings on the ground and took a “fighting stance,” the report said. Doran became aggressive, but fled when the officer pulled out his Taser, the report said.

The officer chased Doran into Bardstown Road. Doran became aggressive toward the officer again and the officer shot him with his Taser, which had no effect, the report said.

Doran fought the officer and was finally subdued after the officer struck Doran’s legs with a baton, the report said.

The pint of Prairie Farms chocolate ice cream was recovered.

Doran, who the report said had no known address, was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree fleeing or evading police, menacing, resisting arrest, shoplifting, and second-degree disorderly conduct.

All I can say is Prairie Farms ice cream must be the shit.
