Vacation Day 9 Decision Of The Day:

After spending a frustrating Saturday morning of trying (key word) to make a CD of the pictures from the Cher concert, I was finally able to get it done. But it took forever doing it through Picasa and their "create a gift CD" option. Don't ask; just agree with me. Anyhoo, I need to find a very reliable CD/DVD burning software to use. Free would be best, but if it's a good program, I'm willing to pay. The decision is for you all to let me know what program you use.  

 

As of now, I've only received two suggestions - Roxio and Nero.  I've used both in the past, and am going to give each a try with a free trial subscription.  

 

So now, it's back to making my own decisions tomorrow at work.  Thanks for helping me out in the past week.

Vacation Day 8 Decision Of The Day:

Tomorrow is Sunday, and then Monday will be here, and that unfortunately means back to work. The decision of the day is do I post a decision for tomorrow, or not?

Decision - I will let my TWIT faithful readers and my FB friends make one more decision for me tomorrow before I have to go back to work where I get paid to make decisions.

Vacation Day 7 Decision Of The Day:

The week has wound down, and I've done a good job of not thinking about the office. I know there will be a bizillion emails waiting for me in my inbox. Do I take some time this weekend and go through them and delete the junk, or do I wait until Monday?

 

Decision:  

After thinking this through, I decided to do a blitz through the emails while I was waiting for my pizza rolls to bake in the toaster oven.  It's one less thing to deal with upon my re-entry on Monday.  I'm glad I did.  I made a quick blitz and only left emails that looked like they needed my attention.  Please note I did not open the actual important emails; I merely deleted junk emails and other non-essential emails.

Vacation Day 6 Decision Of The Day:

I don't need help from my TWIT and FB friends today in deciding what I should do on Vacation Day 6, because the decision had already been made by me. I decided to take My Sweet Mother to get a haircut and perm.  Her hair looks great, and I have to honestly say that waiting for her at the salon was the most relaxing time I've had during this vacation.  I just sat there and read a book and took time to relax.  This might be the best Decision Of The Day so far.

Vacation Day 5 Decision Of The Day:

It was refreshing being able to stay up late last night (I sound like a kid) and watch some of my favorite TV shows on DVD. So this got me thinking about doing it again. This time, I just might try streaming.I already have the old school Netflix DVD membership, and I do watch some things online at Hulu. This brings us to the decision: Netflix or HuluPlus?

Decision:  After hearing from a lot of friends, all of whom said they have Netflix, I do believe I'll give it a try.  

Vacation Day 4 Decision Of The Day:

I spent a good part of today doing Good Shepherd Security Consulting work, but today's decision is for later this evening, so my FB friends will have more time to post their decision. I've got a a couple of Netflix DVD's and a couple of movies I've wanted to watch and haven't had the time. Do I stay up tonight and binge-watch all of them or watch a little at a time the rest of the week?

According to the respons on Facebook today, the decision was overwhelming:  binge-watch.  

So it looks like I'm going to be up for quite awhile tonight.

Vacation Day 3 Decision Of The Day:

I have some Good Shepherd Security Consulting business to do today, so that was non-decision.  But I have been in the mood for some hot wings.  Where should I get them?

Decision: based on response from followers on Facebook, I went to BW3's.  And it didn't hurt to have a gift card from BW3's, either.  The wings rocked.

Vacation day 2 Decision of the Day:

Since I won't be going to work tomorrow, I won't be experiencing the Monday Morning Dread that usually hits me in the afternoon, making me want to cry. Decision of the day:  Should I take a nice Sunday afternoon nap?

Yes, I should, and I did.  It was only about a half hour long, but the nap was nice.

Back by very popular demand is another installment of Decision of the Day. 

I am taking a well deserved and much needed week off. Other than one day of Good Shepherd Security Consulting work, I plan to do nothing, and just like before, I will let you make very important decisions for me.

Vacation day 1 Decision of the Day:

I'll be going to see my beloved Louisville Bats tonight. While at Slugger Field, what should I eat? 

Decision:  After an overwhelming response on Facebook today, it was a dead heat with either a hot dog or fried bologna sandwich.  So to make everyone happy, I am going to have one of each.

Vacation Day 9 Decision Of The Day

My awesome vacation has come to an end, and it's back to work tomorrow where I am paid to make decisions. Unfortunately I'm not able to ask for your help in making those decisions; I'm on my own. But I digress. Since this is the last day before I go back to work, there's still one big decision to make:  do I give in and take a nap this afternoon, or do I stay awake and keep my momentum going like the Energizer bunny?

Vacation Day 8 Decision Of The Day

I've been to the fair twice already, but some friends asked me if I'd like to go back with them to walk around and eat our way through the fair.  Do I go back to the fair with them, or do I stay home and enjoy the last bit of my vacation?

After thinking about it, I ended up going back to the fair yesterday afternoon and had a blast. The last few hours were spent in a gigantic tent listening to the karaoke semi-finals. Last night was one of the first nights in ages that was out till almost midnight. Yeah, I'm almost fifty but I can still hang in there like the teenagers.

Vacation Day 7 Decision Of The Day

On the weeks that I'm on vacation, there's not a lot of cooking at The Compound.  We have canned soups, sandwiches, and easy-to-fix things, in addition to gettying carryout.  Being the sweetest, most kind mother in the world, Mom said that she would make a pot of "something" for the weekend, and since I was still on vacation I would get to choose among my favorites. Unfortunately, dumplins were not one of the choices. But I digress. Do I choose bean soup or chili?

Well, it seems like Mom couldn't decide, either, because she ended up making a pot of bean soup and a pot of chili.  She gave half of each pot to the very sick elderly couple next door and froze most of our halves.  But I can't wait to get home from church tomorrow to get a bowl of chili!

Vacation Day 6 Decision Of The Day

After an action-packed vacation week so far, tomorrow has been designated as my Day Of Rest; that is non-decision.  If any one of the vehicles here at The Compound are out on the road tomorrow, I will not be in it, because I am staying home all day long and doing nothing.  The decision: do I sleep late, or do I get up early (well, not too early) so I can have more time to do nothing?

This was as close to a non-decision as I could get.  I got to bed at about 12:30, and got up at 9:55 this morning.  It sure was nice knowing I didn't have to get up at any certain time.

Vacation Day 5 Decision Of The Day

Today's Decision Of The Day involves the potential of me spending money to make money.  I've got a 15 year old mountain bike in the garage, and the seat is missing.  When I decided to ride the bike, I bought a bigger padded seat for the bike.  When I got my antique Schwinn bike a few years ago, we took the padded seat off of the mountain bike and put it on the Schwinn. Do I try to sell the bike as is or do I go to the store and buy the cheapest seat I can find to put on the bike before I stick it in the front yard with a "for sale" sign on it?

After weighing the options on this, I decided to just sell the bike as is.  Any sane person that buys the bike will surely want a comfortable seat on it and not the usual little small wedge that they put on the bikes and loosely call it a seat.

Vacation Day 4 Decision Of The Day

I have a new Pentax digital camera that I have never used.  It's still in the box. I bought it because I can use all of the lens that I have for my old school Pentax K1000 35mm camera.  So the decision of the day: where should I go for my first photo shoot with the new camera?

After thinking about logistics and locations, I decided that the first shoot with my new camera and equipment will be here at The Compound. 

Vacation Day 3 Decision Of The Day

The fair is here, and no trip to the Kentucky State Fair is complete without some of Hodson's fudge - the fudge like Grandma "tried" to make. This family has made fudge at our fair for as long as I can remember.  In fact, it's the Official State Fair Fudge here at The Compound.  The decision of the day: what flavor fudge do I buy -- peanut butter or chocolate?

Decision:  after carefully weighing the options, I decided that I will buy both flavors of fudge -- peanut butter and chocolate.

Vacation Day 2 Decision Of The Day:

The 'Rents decided they wanted tacos for supper tonight, so I'm only happy to oblige. On Sundays, there usually is no cooking at The Compound, so my decision: do we get our tacos from Taco Bell or Taco Tico?

Decision:  I decided to give our hometown conglomerate Yum! our business, and went to Taco Bell.

Vacation Day 1 Decision Of The Day:

The old BMW resides underneath the carport, and while the carport roof and the wall of the garage protect it from the rain and snow, the car attracts dust from the garden like you wouldn't believe; especially this summer with the drought. I'm pretty sure that the car is maroon, but I won't be able to tell for sure until I wash it. So the Decision of the Day: do I wash it myself or let someone else wash it for me?

Decision:  I drove the car up to the neighborhood high school and let the school kids wash as at their fundraiser.  It's win-win for all.

I'm taking a vacation week starting tomorrow, so we all know what that means, faithful readers - another installment of Vacation Decision Of The Day.

Vacation Day 1 Decision Of The Day:

I got a new suit for my birthday (insert jokes about "my birthday suit") and I want a a colorful new blouse to wear with it. The suit's color makes it look like it is dark blue denim. I have my blouse color choices narrowed down to melon or maroon.

After careful consideration, I decided to go with bright melon for spring.
