Forty years ago today, one of the best movies ever was released – “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” Sissy Spacek’s performance as Loretta Lynn is second only to Loretta herself.
This movie holds a special place in my heart and memory because me and some of my best friends in high school went to see the movie after we had our senior ring ceremony at school. I’m sure the cooler school kids went out drinking and partying after they got their senior
rings, but my group went to see Coal Miner’s Daughter, and we had a blast. We all loved the movie, since we were all big country music fans.
And I am proud to say that all of us school friends that went to see Coal Miner’s Daughter that day still keep in touch with each other today.
