I couldn't wait to get home from work today to go out to the coop and see if we had another egg today, and thanks to one of my Girls, we did. We got our first egg two weeks ago today, and each afternoon when I lift up the lid to the nesting boxes and see an egg, I am excited and amazed. The Girls were one day old and little bundles of fuzz when we got them, and now they're almost full-grown and giving us eggs.
I never imagined that I would become a chicken farmer at the age of 54. But it's pretty darned cool, if I do say so. It will never get old.
