Old Friends

I heard from an old friend earlier this evening.  She called on the old school home phone - she didn't text or email, nor did she call my cell number; she called my old school home phone number.  We had a great time talking, just like we did back in the day when we were teenagers, talking on the home phones.  We laughed, and we were solemn when we talked about her dad who passed away a year ago.  But best of all, we reconnected by voice - not by 160 characters being read over a smart phone.
