Our neighbor across the street, CL, is a member of Kosair Shriners. In case you didn't know, to become a Shriner you have to go through the Masons. It's a very big deal to be a Shriner. Anyhoo, CL is in charge of the Giant Fez for the Kosair Shriners here in Louisville, and he pulls it in parades. And a few times a year we'll see the fez across the street in their driveway.
The giant fez has been in our 'hood for a few days now, in preparation of the annual St. Patrick's Day parade here in the 'Ville. Yes, I know it's not quite St. Patrick's Day, but the parade is always the 2nd Saturday in March.
I walked over this morning to get some pics of the fez, and while taking them, I was tempted to ask CL if I could go with him to the parade and ride in the truck. Maybe next year.
