I spent some time last night attempting (key word) to get my iTunes back. It was the most frustrating thing ever -- I was able to find the folder that contained the iTunes library but for some [most likely] simple reason I couldn't get iTunes to recognize it. I'm not giving up, however. Later on today when I have more patience and stamina, I'm going to delete iTunes and reinstall it and take it from there.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I have a love/hate relationship with iTunes and all things Apple. When they work, they are the most awesome things ever created and invented. But when they don't work, I fully understand why Elvis would shoot the TV.
