During lunch one day this week, my friend/coworker/faithful reader SH and I had a big old laugh over the old school Eastlands aka Bluchers.
The weren't cool unless you had the shoelaces rolled into the pigtails, as seen in this picture. I've always had issues with anything like this, so I would always have the Old Man fix my shoelaces.
The kids today are wearing the Sperry shoes, and I'm not sure that they even sell Eastlands anymore, but I am proud to say that I still wear my pair of Eastlands, identical to the pair in this picture. I keep them in my office and change into them when I am wearing sandals or other shoes that are not approved footware for our factory. And yes, I still have the pigtails.
