Dad had a very frustrating day today. He and Mom spent all day out in the yard and garden, enjoying the almost-warm spring weather and getting the last remnants of winter cleared away. While he was mowing the back forty, his Cub Cadet small tractor quit. I know how I would handled something like this, and being my father's daughter, I have a pretty good idea how he handled it. So to cheer him up a bit and get his mind off of worrying about getting the tractor fixed, I took him out for the evening for some father and daughter bonding time. (Note: Mom enjoyed an evening of Me Time by herself.)
While Dad and I were out and about we ran into a friend of ours, April. Mom and Dad ran in to her about a year ago, but I hadn't seen her in a couple of years. After exchanging updates, she told me something extremely cool: she won a car. I was so surprised and so excited for her that I totally forgot to ask what kind of car she won; all she said was that she won it in a giveaway at the local casino boad a few months ago. Dad and I were so happy for her, and both of us agreed that April is the first person we know that has won a car. I think that's pretty cool.
