Monday, Monday

 Derby is over again until next May.  Even though we didn't have the big long shot winner, we sure had a lot of fun this weekend with my Favorite Cousin and her Handy Husband.  We ate, drank, laughed, and reminisced.  

But the weekend was not without drama.  Saturday afternoon we noticed water on the kitchen floor, and discovered a leak under the sink.  Luckily it wasn't much water, and even more lucky, Handy Husband was able to fix it by putting on a hose clamp on a pipe.  He tightened up the loose pipes and we are back in business. 

I'm tired this morning, and will need to get to the office to get some rest.

Flashback Friday

As the 2022 Kentucky Oaks has just been run, I think back to the late 80s when my friend KD took me to the Oaks.   We were all dressed up - my Sweet Mother and Gram made me a very cool hat to wear, and I proudly wore it with my Kelly green linen suit with a yellow blouse and my favorite black snake skin heels.,   We had an awesome day, and didn't win much, but we sure had a great day.  

Happy Thurby

 I hesitated to use the word "Thurby" but I digress - after all, it is Derby week.  And it's Thursday. 

I spent three hours this morning cleaning and getting the house ready for our kinfolk from the north, my Favorite Cousin and her husband from LaFayette, IN to come down for their regular Derby weekend visit.  We're ready for the eating, drinking, and horse race watching to begin.

Tonight, we will celebrate Cinco De Mayo at our favorite Mexican restaurant, and will most likely consume some good margaritas along with some good Mexican food.

Wishful Wednesday

 I don't have to be at work again until Monday, and for that I am thankful.  I am hoping for a wishful rest of the week with no drama.

Distracted Again

I apologize once again, faithful readers.  I am very distracted right now and my short-term posts might suffer.  I'm dealing with two major issues right now, and working every day and taking care of the Old Man.  But I will post when I can. 

After all - it is Derby week.  We are all allowed some distractions.
